Below are tutorials for using the HandySam app. If there is anything else you are unsure about please reach out to use using the in app support screen or via support@handysam.co.za.
For Users
Registration
Registration is easy! All you need a is a South African cellphone number. Enter it on the log in screen and you will be directed to a verification screen where you will need to enter a 6 digit verification code that has been messaged to your number via SMS. Then you would need to set you details (you can always change it and add more addresses under your profile screen). After that there are a few onboarding messages and then you are good to go!
Setting Up A Callout (Emergency)
To set up a callout you need to select a service. After which you will be navigated to the callout setup screen. Here you can provide more details about your callout, choose or add an address and then when you select emergency you will be navigated through to the finding pro screen. As soon as a pro accepts you callout they will display on the profound screen. Here you can select a pro and pay their callout fee (this will most likely be decuted from your final invoice). You will then go to the active job card screen where you will see the pro’s live location. BE sure to leave a review after the job is done!
Setting Up A Callout (Scheduled)
Scheduled callouts work exactly like emergency callouts except that your callout will be saved after you paid your selcted pro’s callout fee under the scheduled callouts tab (yellow tab on the home screen). You will be notified 30 minutes before the job starts. You can also call the pro if you have questions or need to reschedule.
History Screen
From the history screen you can see your past callouts and book pros you liked again.
Profile Screen
From the profile screen you can updte your info and add or remove the addresses associated with your account.
Support Screen
Using the support screen you can get in touch with one of our friendly support crew member 24/7.
For Pros
Registration
Pro registration is easy! Set your profile picutre, first impressions are everything! Then you can set your availability for both emeregency and scheduled callouts, allowing you flexibility it terms of what hours you are willing to respond to callouts. Then you need to submit a copy of your ID, proof of address and any applicable certifications. You will then be requred to selct a subscription tier of which there are three to choose from:
– Free: Completely free but we take a 15% commision on your callouts,
– Plus: For R1,000 a month we take no commisions on your callouts and your range gets upgraded to 100km,
– VIP: For R2,000 a month we take no commisions on your callouts and your range gets upgraded to 100km and you get priority listing when users book callouts.
After registration is complete you will be directed to the home screen. Initially your profile card will show as unverified, this takes about 30 minutes and a member of our team will contact you if we need any more information to verify you.
You will receive a notifcation once your account has been verified and you will be able to accept callouts right away.
Accepting A Callout (Emergency)
Emergency callouts are immiediate. As soon as you accept your profile card will be send to users. As soon as your callout fee is paid you will be navigated to the active job screen where you can call the user and navigate to their address using an integrated map. Remember to mark a job as complete as soon as your done!
Accepting A Callout (Scheduled)
Works the same as emergency callouts but instead, when your callout is paid the scheduled callout will be saved to your homescreen. You will be notified 30 minutes before the job is scheduled to start, you can also call the user to reschedule and are free to start the job at any time.
History Screen
Keep track of your callout earnings from the history screen. We keep reviews anonymous but if you feel you received an unfiar review please contact using the support feature in the app. Your history resets every month.
Profile Screen
From the profile screen you can updte your info, availability and the services you offer as well as update your profile photo.

Using the support screen you can get in touch with one of our friendly support crew member 24/7.
Referral Wallet
Setting It Up
Setting up your referral wallet is easy and fast. Simply enter the banking info you would like to be paid out to to register (automatic for pros) and share your referral code with new pros to start earning!
Earning And Getting Paid
Referral earnings are updated in realtime and payouts are processed on the last day of each month. Please refer to the referral program section of the site for more information in this regard.
